Deafening Street is a Korean rock band formed in early 2005 by Lee Sang-Heon who both sings and plays the guitar and Kim Dong-Won, the drummer. They play live with two session musicians: a bassist(Park Jong-Cheol) and a keyboard/acoustic guitar player(Jeon Il-Joo). They recently released their 1st official album called "In The Deafening Street", which contains nine songs they had polished for years by playing at a lot of clubs in Korea. Lee has written all the lyrics in English where you might notice the influence of French Poetry, particularly Charles Baudelaire, which he actually majored in university. From the early beginning, they wished to advance abroad as well as in their country. Above all, their music consists of poetic lyrics and brilliant and ambient guitar sounds, which casts an image of large arena with relatively simple but powerful rhythm parts. As you could find easily, their major influences are U2 and 90's alternative bands such as Smashing Pumpkins, Collective Soul, Dishwalla and Pearl Jam. Lee's guitar sounds will remind you of the Edge from U2, but he seems to make an attempt to expand the scope of that sound, maximizing the possibility of guitar effects.
Currently Deafening Street keep on playing club live and making new songs to perfect their unique styles.
